The last part in the process of being scanned is scanned storage. Determining the appropriate digital format is very important and useful in clicking streamline storage file size and function of the digital file itself. Typically the scans that we store in the form of images (JPEG), but in line with technological developments scan results can be saved to a variety of formats that allows us to organize, edit, process or its opening in various electronic media present. Find out yuk anything any file format and designation 🙂

And that allows for file storage, Plustek Scanners also provide features technology that allows us to save the scan results directly easily into various digital formats simply by touching a button provided on the Scanner Plustek, namely: PDF, Searchable PDF, Microsoft Word (.doc) , Microsoft Excel (.xls), TXT, PNG, JPEG, TIFF, and BMP.

Here are some of the sense and function of each storage formats:

Suitable for
: digital document that has a writing format, documents that contain both text and image.

PDF (Portable Document Format)

The format of file storage in the form of “.pdf” is capable of displaying data in the form of text and pictures. Each file save format of writing and typeface. Generally opened using Adobe Acrobat Reader software.

Suitable for :
digital documents, novel / comic / digital books to facilitate the search text.

Searchable PDF (Searchable Portable Document Format)

Same with the shape file “.pdf” only the difference in the Searchable PDF, word or phrase in the document can be searched. The shape of this format is closely related to technology OCR (Optical Character Recognition) on the scanner. Generally opened using Adobe Acrobat Reader software.

Suitable for :
documents that would change / edit the text.

.docx (Microsoft Office Word)

File storage format of Microsoft Word that is where the format is capable of storing the text and format of writing. Storage scanned using this format directly related to OCR (Optical Character Recognition), so it can directly edit the word or phrase in the document. Generally opened using Microsoft Office Word.

Suitable for:
 documents containing tables.

.xlsx (Microsoft Office Excel)

writing documents without any form of writing and drawing, digital document storage with the capacity of small / limited, ease of opening the file in any electronic media.

Suitable for :
writing documents without any form of writing and drawing, digital document storage with the capacity of small / limited, ease of opening the file in any electronic media.

.txt

txt” format can be opened on all common computers, almost without the need for special software, because it is supplied from your computer each. This format saves only the text (text), with very few forms of writing (without bold, italic, and the like), in addition to the ease of opening a file anywhere, this format has the smallest file size compared to other formats.
Generally opened using Notepad (on Windows) and TextEdit (on MacOS).

Suitable for:
documents in the form of drawings or photographs, sending image files via email.

.jpeg (Joint Photography Expert Group) atau .jpg

this format is devoted to storage of image files / photos. Format “.jpeg” can set the level of its compression, so that the quality and storage capacity can be set (the larger the image compression, the smaller the file size, and vice versa). However, if the results of the scan JPEG compressed too much will eliminate kedetailan images and colors that are less sharp.
Generally opened using Windows Picture, Paint, and other software that support.

Suitable for:
documents that form the image with a solid color (no more than 256 colors) and use the image files on the internet.

.png (Portable Network Graphic)

file format “.png” is devoted also to storage of image files / photos, nearly the same as .jpeg format. However, the optimal form of this file to store images or documents that use a lot of solid colors (no more than 256 colors), because the basic algorithm is stored using the “number of colors” storage results almost no compression at all, so that the image file will remain the same as the original. This format can display a transparent image.

Suitable for:
document in the form of drawings or photos to be printed offset.

.tiff (Tagged Image File Format)

tiff format  also devoted to the storage of image files / photos. .tiff format is often used for printing, because this format supports “high color depth” (high color-depth image) compared with .jpeg and .png. Storage scan results in the form of TIFF is suitable for prints in the form of photos because the images although compressed while maintaining image quality and color. However, the file size is very large.
Generally it can be opened using Windows Picture software, Adobe Photoshop, and other software that support.

Suitable for:
document in the form of images or photos which are then to be processed print or used for Internet purposes.

.bmp (Bitmap)

Almost the same with the only difference .tiff format “.bmp” normally used for uncompressed file format (no compression) on the Windows operating system. However, .bmp is rarely used due to large file size, while the quality can hardly be equated with other formats. The surplus is supporting the transparent layer file. In general, the software is opened using Windows Picture, Paint, and other software that support.

Similarly, on digital files around the scanner. May be useful 🙂
